WIP: Lacy sweater / Top calado

No se qué me ha pasado en la última semana pero he tenido un ataque compulsivo de comprar lana. Lo bueno, que cada compra va unida a la idea de un proyecto concreto en la que emplearla, lo malo, que como la compro por internet, te arriegas un poco a que lo que te llega a casa no es lo que tenías en mente. En cuanto a color principalmente.

I don´t know what happened to me last week but I bought such amount of yarn as I never did before. Internet is my doom… Luckily, every purchase has been made for a determined proyect. The first one, this lacy sweater seen on the cover of Inside Crochet magazine nº51.

El primer proyecto a atacar es el top que aparece en la portada de la revista inside crochet nº51.

Para variar, decidí seguir a rajatabla todas las indicaciones. Compré el mismo hilado que utilizan en la revista (sirdar snuggly baby bamboo) e incluso hice la muestra inicial para comprobar que la tensión es la correcta. Y aunque conseguí el tamaño que indican, me pareció que la muestra quedaba «muy abierta», como poco definidas las puntadas y me dio miedo que el top terminado pareciese un batiburrillo de hilos mezclados.

I bought the same yarn (sirdar snuggly baby bamboo) and I checked my tension as indicated in the magazine. It was correct but I found the pattern «too open», with not well-defined stitches so I decided to use a 5mm. crochet instead of a 6mm. I like how it looks at this point. And thanks to this change I didn´t have to adapt the pattern as the measures given were too wide for me.

Así que estoy utilizando un ganchillo de 5mm. en vez de 6 y en principio estoy contenta con como está quedando. Además, así he evitado tener que adaptar el patrón porque las medidas finales que dan en la revista me parecen muy grandes para mí.

Como es manga 3/4 llevo idea de poder llevarlo en septiembre, principios de octubre, por lo que no quería un color muy «de verano». Este rosa oscuro creo que le va bien. Y que el detalle sea menos abierto creo que también lo hace más apropiado para esta época del año.

I chose a dark pink, I didn´t want a «summer colour», because I would like to wear it from September to mid October. I also believe that this less open-work make the sweater suitable for this season.

No se si será el color pero anoche cuando terminé el cuerpo me vino a la cabeza que ya había visto algo parecido en otra revista, y esta mañana me he puesto a investigar. ¿Creeis que se parecen?

I´m not sure if it´s because of the colour but last night, when I finished the body, an image came to my mind. I knew I had seen a sweater very similar in other magazine. And this morning after a brief research…. What do you think?

Es un concepto totalmente distinto, lo se, lo se, ya digo que no se si será el color pero me dio que pensar en si no habré reducido demasiado el patrón y cómo quedará mi jersey cuando lo termine… Umm…

A different concept, I know, maybe it´s just the colour, but this one make me think if I´d reduced too much the pattern and how my sweater will look when it´s finished. Umm…
